It was one of those everyone can see it but them which really added to the angst of things. This book is taking place in maybe a regency era or something along those lines, but everything else feels modern. Kinda along the same lines, the use of modern language and some modern technology (you'll know it when you see it) was well done and so funny. And while it was not subtle (I mean, our main character's name is Brie for crying out loud), it made the story that much more enjoyable.
